Director James Gunn is hooked on a feeling that fans are ready for more Guardians Of The Galaxy, and he is ready to give it to them! The Guardians Of The Galaxy writer-director, who is well known for his interactions with his fans on online social media networks, recently took to Twitter to announce to his fans that he had completed his musical selections for the Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Awesome Mix soundtrack and that the film would be shooting before the end of the year.

After the massive success of the first two films and their fan-favorite soundtracks, Guardians fans have pestering Gunn for what seems like an eternity as to when he might announce the songs for the upcoming third film’s soundtrack. Thankfully when someone asked this time, Gunn had a real answer for them, which you can see below!

This is especially exciting news because it means that the film’s script is also pretty well completed and the story to complete this trilogy is more or less locked in. While unconventional, Gunn is notorious for filming scenes with the songs from the soundtrack playing as they shoot so that the cast can truly feel the mood that the songs bring to the scene.

As of now, while the tracks have been selected, Gunn hasn’t offered any hints up as to what titles or artists may be appearing on Awesome Mix Vol. 3. Many are curious to see what Gunn does with his musical selections this time around, considering Starlord inherited a Microsoft Zune digital media player at the end of the second film which would open up a world of possibilities for newer music to be featured than the songs on the cassette tapes in the first two films.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to be the end of this era of the Guardians team, with several of the characters expected to depart by the film’s end. Many are hopeful that Gunn plans on leaving a little bit of room for a potential continuation of the series following this conclusion, but only time will tell for sure which direction Marvel will take things in.

While Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 isn’t filming until the end of this year and won’t be released for another two years, there is still plenty of new Marvel content on the immediate horizon. In addition to the Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special that is set to release in 2022 ahead of the third film, there are several new series and films to look forward to in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

For starters, the complete series of both WandaVision and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier are available for streaming on the Disney+ subscription streaming service. Loki is set to join them with new weekly episodes starting on June 9th, followed by What If… later this summer and additional series like Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel planned for release on the streaming service before years end.

On the theatrical side of things, Marvel Studios has Black Widow finally releasing on July 9th after multiple delays. After that, we have Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings On September 3rd, The Eternals on November 5th, and finally Spider-Man: No Way Home on December 17th to round out 2021.
