Are you ready for more spandex, blood, and guts? You won’t have long to wait. Amazon Prime Video has announced that its breakout hit The Boys will return for its fourth season this summer, on June 13. The streamer will release three episodes up front and then roll out one new installment each week after that. There will be eight episodes altogether with the season finale releasing on July 18, so that’s just over a month of new programming. (This is the same release strategy used with Season 3.)
According to Deadline:
In Season Four, the world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.
Victoria Neuman is played by Claudia Doumit. The new poster for the series features her and Homelander (Antony Starr) in what looks like a victory scene. You can check that out below:
The Boys also stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, and Cameron Crovetti. In addition, Nathan Mitchell’s Black Noir will return after having been seemingly killed off last season.
According to showrunner Eric Kripke:
“It’s definitely not the last we’ve seen of Black Noir as a hero. It’s just that the guy who was inside [the Noir suit] in season 3, he’s gone. But we have Nathan playing a really interesting and hilarious character who wears the suit next season.”
Season 4 adds two new cast members. Susan Heyward will portray Sister Sage, with Valorie Curry as Firecracker.
Kripke teased:
“You are going to love them. And by love, I mean be absolutely horrified & a tiny bit nauseous.”
That tracks.

Reportedly, Sister Sage will have the power to predict the future.

Firecracker sounds like a female pastiche of The Punisher. It doesn’t sound as though she has any powers but she will be proficient with guns.
Also joining the cast is Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who worked with Kripke on Supernatural. His role is unknown at this point. Last season, another Supernatural cast member, Jensen Ackles joined as Soldier Boy, and Kripke has hinted that he will likely return.
As he told EW:
“We’ll all have to wait and see, but I can’t imagine the series ending without Soldier Boy making another appearance.”
