Few new comic book characters make quite the splash as Kamala Khan, the new Ms. Marvel. After less than a decade of existence, she is getting her own Disney+ series and the first trailer is here!
The streaming series was created by Bisha K. Ali and will star Iman Vellani in the lead role. Ms. Marvel is a first-generation child of Pakistani immigrants living in New Jersey, just a bridge away from all the action in the Marvel Universe (New York City). She and her family are also Muslim, but her comics have established that she is a character that all people can relate to.
Vellani was announced as the star of in September. It was also just announced that she will appear in Captain Marvel 2. Kamala took her superhero name from Carol Danvers, as Ms. Marvel was her original moniker before she became Captain Marvel in 2012.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and Meera Menon have been announced as directors of this series.
Ms. Marvel also stars Aramis Knight as Kareem/Red Dagger, Saagar Shaikh as Kamala’s brother, Amir Khan, Rish Shah as Kamran, and Matt Lintz as Kamala’s best friend, Bruno Carrelli. Also, cast in undisclosed roles are Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha.
There are still… well, ALL of the first wave of Marvel Disney+ shows to come. WandaVision will be released next month. That will be followed by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and Hawkeye.
