It has been reported that Emma Corrin will portray the villain in Deadpool and Wolverine. That character will be Cassandra Nova, the evil twin sister of Charles Xavier. Take that with a grain of salt as this has not been confirmed. It sounds plausible as the Deadpool movies tend to pluck out more obscure characters from the X-Men canon, like Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Yukio, and most of X-Force (R.I.P.).
Who is Cassandra Nova?
Sensing her inherent evil, a fetal Charles tried to strangle Cassandra in their mother’s womb. Cassandra, however, projected herself into the astral plain and essentially gave herself a physical form. Like Charles, she has immense psychic powers and is responsible for killing 16 million mutants on what was supposed to be a haven of Genosha. She was introduced during Grant Morrison’s run on the X-Men in 2001 and was co-created by artist Frank Quitely.
Of course, she may be absolutely different in Deadpool and Wolverine, the way that Negasonic was completely changed from the source material.
Corrin may be best known for playing Princess Diana on The Crown. More recently, she starred in the FX series A Murder at the End of the World. Among her other credits are Anna X, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, and My Policeman with Harry Styles.
Who Will Appear In Deadpool and Wolverine?
Obviously, Ryan Reynolds returns as Deadpool/ Wade Wilson, and this picture features the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Coming back from the previous Deadpool movies are Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as taxi driver Dopinder, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, Rob Delaney as Peter, who has no powers, and Stefan Kapičić as Colossus.
There are also going to be loads of cameos from movies that came before the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The only one confirmed is Jennifer Garner as Elektra who appeared in the 20th Century Fox Daredevil movie and in her own solo feature. But there are rumors of a lot of others including Halle Berry as Storm and Patrick Stewart as Professor X.
Kelsey Grammer recently returned as Beast in The Marvels. Could Fox’s X-Men make a full-fledged return? It sounds possible. And according to what I’ve heard, there will be a lot more cameos. This is a “multiverse” movie, after all.
