Deadpool 3 is filming right now, despite the Writers Guild of America strike. Word has it that Marvel Studios, a subsidiary of Disney, is going ahead with filming with what they have. Any changes will be made when they do reshoots.
It’s unclear how Deadpool 3 will connect to both the original Fox X-Men franchise and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first two Deadpool movies played fast and loose with continuity with a completely different Colossus but incorporating the X-Men: Age of Apocalypse cast.
Now, Hugh Jackman, the original cinematic Wolverine, will be back in Deadpool 3. Rumors have emerged that other members of the cast of the O.G. X-Men movies may turn up, with James Marsden (Cyclops), Famke Jensen (Jean Grey), and Halle Berry (Storm)’s names in the mix. (Of course, Jean Grey should be DEAD at this point, but… we’ll see.)
Halle Berry posted a picture on Instagram sporting short white hair, which may hint that she is suiting up as Storm once again.

Also, Patrick Stewart returned as Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, in his yellow hover chair from the cartoon, so there is already some connection to the larger multiverse.
I don’t think these cameos will have an impact on the larger MCU moving forward, but it’s kind of neat to get them to bid farewell to this era. After all, if it hadn’t been for the success of the Fox X-Men films, there would never have been an MCU, to begin with.
