The Star Wars universe is heading to an all-new style of a galaxy far, far away with Lucasfilm and Disney+’s new anime series, Star Wars: Visions. The series is the first-ever anime series set within the Star Wars universe and brings together several animation studios to produce nine all-new Star Wars stories with a unique visual style all their own.

Lucasfilm has just dropped the first full trailer for the upcoming series, which is set to premiere in September exclusively on the Disney+ subscription streaming service. The trailer gives us our first glimpse of what we can look forward to seeing across the series nine episodes, with each one bringing something new and astonishing to the Star Wars franchise. You can check out the trailer below:

The show looks to feature some stunning animation from several of the world’s top anime studios, including Kinema Citrus, Science Saru, and Kamikaze Douga among others. James Waugh, executive producer and Lucasfilm Vice President, Franchise Content & Strategy, certainly seems excited about it, saying in a statement:

Lucasfilm is partnering with seven of the most talented anime studios in Japan to bring their signature style and unique vision of the Star Wars galaxy to this inspired new series. Their stories showcase the full spectrum of bold storytelling found across Japanese animation; each told with a freshness and voice that expands our understanding of what a Star Wars story can be, and celebrates a galaxy that has been such an inspiration to so many visionary storytellers.

As beautiful as the blend of animation styles are, perhaps even more impressive is the extensive A-list voice talent that Lucasfilm has brought in for this series. Each of Star Wars: Visions nine anthology episodes is jam-packed with fan-favorite stars for both the original Japanese and English dub versions of the show! The English dub includes big names like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lucy Liu, David Harbour, Allison Brie, James Hong, Neil Patrick Harris, and Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, while the original Japanese voice work has contributors including Hiroyuki Yoshino, Hiromu Mineta, and Masako Nozawa.
