The Star Wars universe is vast, so it would only make sense for Disney to do everything they could to explore different corners of the galaxy and even different eras of the timeline within it! Lucasfilm, the team behind all of the Star Wars projects which is also now a subdivision of Disney, has got several new animated projects in store for fans that are sure to be crowd-pleasers.

During the recent Disney Investor Day presentation, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy made announcements for several new Star Wars projects. While there was plenty to be excited about with The Mandalorian spinoffs like Ahsoka and Rangers Of The New Republic, there were two major announcements that really stood out for fans of Star Wars animated series like The Clone Wars and Rebels.

First up, it was announced there will be an all-new series based on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and will be both a sequel and a spinoff all at the same time. The show is titled Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and follows a team of unique clone troopers, each with their own special abilities and skills, as they navigate the fall of the Old Republic after the end of the Clone Wars.

The Bad Batch, also known as Clone Force 99, first appeared in the seventh and final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars earlier this year. This series will be a direct continuation of the story from The Clone Wars that tells the story of Clone Force 99 as they take on mercenary missions and try to find their new place in the galaxy now that The Clone Wars are over.

The show is coming from Clone Wars Executive Producer Dave Filoni, who is also executive producing this series along with Brad Rau, Jennifer Corbett, Carrie Beck, and Athena Portillo. Brad Rau is also serving as supervising director, while Jennifer Corbett is the head writer for the series.

If you’ve had enough of The Clone Wars and want something a bit different, then Lucasfilm has you covered there as well with Star Wars: Visions! This is going to be an all-new anime-inspired anthology series set amid the backdrop of the Star Wars universe!

Star Wars: Visions is the first-ever anime adaptation of Star Wars. The series will give Japanese animation creators a chance to create some truly distinctive new stories from unique perspectives from all around the various corners of the Star Wars universe. While no details have yet been given as to what these stories may entail, it definitely sounds like a project to keep an eye on as it develops.
