‘The Book Of Boba Fett’ Is Its Own Series With Robert Rodriguez Producing

Book of Boba Fett

Disney and Lucasfilm let us ride out the weekend filled with suspense and speculation, but now we finally have some answers about The Book Of Boba Fett!

Announced at the end of a post-credits scene following the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, The Book Of Boba Fett is an all-new original series set in the Star Wars universe. The show will be set during the same era in the timeline as The Mandalorian and joins new shows like Ahsoka and Rangers Of The New Republic.

The series will star Temuera Morrison as the titular bounty hunter Boba Fett, a role he first took up during Season 2 of The Mandalorian. Morrison previously portrayed Boba’s “father” Jango Fett in the Star Wars prequel trilogy; a character that was also the base model used for the Clone Army of the New Republic during the Clone Wars. Boba Fett was introduced in the original Star Wars trilogy where he was played by the late Jeremy Bulloch.

Morrison will be joined by Disney veteran Ming-Na Wen as fellow bounty hunter Fennec Shand. Wen first appeared in the Star Wars universe during Season 1 of The Mandalorian where she became an immediate fan favorite.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of Disney and Lucasfilm’s announcement is that while the team behind The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, will be executive producers for the series, the pair will be joined by director Robert Rodriguez as an executive producer.

Rodriguez recently directed The Mandalorian Season 2, Episode 6, ‘The Tragedy‘, which is where fans were properly introduced to Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett. Oddly enough, he wasn’t originally slated to direct the episode but stepped in as a favor to Jon Favreau. Fans are certainly thankful he did, though, as ‘The Tragedy‘ has been lauded as one of the single best episodes of the entire series. It is exciting to see him taking a continued interest in the Star Wars universe and expanding upon this new era of the galaxy’s most dangerous bounty hunter.
