When Marvel and Disney first announced a slate of new series coming to the Disney+ streaming services all those years ago, they said one of the first shows to debut would be The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The series would follow the title characters in the aftermath of the events of Endgame and how their lives had changed. Well, things didn’t turn out as planned and though Wandavision will be the first of the Marvel shows on Disney+, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier are just a couple of months behind. But fret not, because Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige debuted an all-new trailer for the series on tonight’s Disney Investor Call and it’s sure to whet the appetites of rabid Marvel Fans.
The trailer shows the legacy that Captain America has left on the two characters. With Cap gone and Falcon taking up the shield, it will be interesting to see how the burden affects him. We do get to see an all-new look for Falcon, with wings that sport stripes of red, white, and blue. Even the Winter Soldier has a new look, and by that, I mostly mean a haircut.
There are certainly a lot of interesting things in the trailer, such as Daniel Brühl, who reprises his role as Zemo, the mastermind behind the events of Captain America: Civil War. There’s also a quick glimpse of a man dressed similar to Captain America running onto a football field, which the rumor mill is saying is US Agent. I’m very curious to see if this is true. Regardless of whether it is or not, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is sure to be an action-packed, exciting ride.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier debuts on Disney+ on March 19, 2021.
