You would think that after seven seasons of The Clone Wars, four seasons of Star Wars: Rebels, appearances in two Star Wars movies, and now featured in The Mandalorian, the people at Lucasfilm would have grown tired of looking at Temuera Morrison’s face. But now, much like the Star Wars fan base, they can’t seem to get enough of the guy! After all these Star Wars projects, Morrison is now rumored to be joining the cast of the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series for Disney+!

Actor Temuera Morrison first joined the Star Wars universe way back in 2002 for Attack Of The Clones where he played bounty hunter Jango Fett. Fett became the base model for the Clone Army of the Republic used in the Clone Wars, which also meant that Morrison became the base model for this clone army. Although he had no involvement with the Clone Wars television series, his face was still used as the Baseline model for all of the Clones featured in the show.

The actor recently rejoined the Star Wars franchise in Season 2 of The Mandalorian where he takes up the mantle of Boba Fett; Jango’s unaltered clone that he raised as a son until his untimely demise. While having Morrison in that role has been a rousing success, it looks like Lucasfilm wants to make sure that the hits keep coming by adding him to the cast of their new Obi-Wan Kenobi series that bridges more of the gap between the prequel trilogy and the original Star Wars trilogy.

Rumors of Temuera Morrison’s involvement with Obi-Wan Kenobi are coming from Kessel Run Transmissions. This is a site that previously reported rumors regarding a new Lando Calrissian series and a series based around Cara Dune; both of which were seemingly announced this past week with Lando and Rangers Of The New Republic.

If Morrison does end up reuniting with Ewan McGregor on the series, it’s likely that he won’t be returning as Jango or Boba Fett, but rather as one of the many Clone Troopers that borrowed his face over the years. Fans are already speculating which Clone Trooper it could be, with fan favorites like Captain Rex and Commander Cody being strong contenders.

While we know Rex is still around during the time period this show is set in, his storyline on Star Wars: Rebels makes it less likely that he will appear here. Meanwhile, Commander Cody was never shown as killed and was one of the first Clone Troopers to turn on the Jedi when Order 66 was executed. He himself tried to kill Obi-Wan, so maybe we will see some sort of reunion of the pair here? And if it is Cody, will he be returning as a friend or an enemy?

It’ll be some time before we find out just who Temuera Morrison is playing (if anyone) in the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which is set to begin filming early next year. In the meantime, you can catch Morrison in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, which is airing its season finale this Friday, December 18th, exclusively on Disney+.
