Kathryn Hahn Teases ‘Agatha: Coven Of Chaos’ Could Contain “A Little Song Here Or There”

WandaVision was the first Marvel Disney+ series and while its ratings were so-so at first, it gained momentum as the cryptic show’s mysteries continued to unfold. The series peaked with the revelation that it was “nosey neighbor” Anges, a.k.a. Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn, who was the show’s true antagonist. She had been pulling the strings since the beginning… or, *ahem* “all along” in the song “Agatha All Along” which was released as a single and cracked the Billboard Top 40 and went on to earn an Emmy.

“Agatha All Along” was performed by Hahn and written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, who previously wrote the songs for Frozen and Frozen II, with Lopez having also co-written the songs for the Broadway hits Avenue Q and Book of Mormon.  Lopez also provided the male backing vocals on “Agatha All Along.”

Now that Agatha is getting her own show, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, some may wonder if it may also include another earworm.  And Hahn has teased… maybe.

In an interview with TVLine, Hahn hinted:

“Um, her costumes and her nails. They’re fabulous.  And who knows, there may be a little song here or there… but no one is saying anything about that — certainly not me!”

In 2021, after the success of WandaVision and “Agatha All Along,” Hahn told Nylon:

“I knew I was going to have a theme song, but I actually didn’t know I was going to be singing it until we were midway through shooting it and they were like, ‘Oh, we’re going to need you to sing.  I was like, ‘Great,’ but I had zero expectations that it was going to be the thing that would pop out. I was like, ‘Wait, what?’ It was really like it was [happening on] a different planet — it was like another us or another me, just this other thing that was happening. Someone was like, ‘You topped the Biebs!’ And I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ The whole thing was so very, very surreal.”

In addition to Hahn, Agatha: Coven of Chaos welcomes back WandaVision‘s Debra Jo Rupp as “Mrs. Hart”/Sharon Davis and Emma Caulfield Ford as “Dottie”/Sarah Proctor.  The cast also includes Aubrey Plaza (The White Lotus), Joe Locke (Heartstopper), Ali Ahn (Raising Dion), Maria Dizzia (The Good Nurse), Sasheer Zamata (Home Economics), and Broadway legend Patti Lupone.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos is expected to arrive on Disney+ in the latter portion of this year.
