Paramount has unleashed two new pieces of promotion for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves — a new poster and a behind-the-scenes featurette in which the cast discusses this potential new franchise starter.
For starters, it sounds as though this picture was made with actual D&D fans in mind, so expect loads of Easter eggs from the actual games including monsters, spells, locations, and more.
The ensemble cast includes Chris Pine as Edgin the Bard, Michelle Rodriguez as Holga the Barbarian, Regé-Jean Page as Xenk the Paladin, Justice Smith as Simon the Sorcerer, Sophia Lillis as Doric, a tiefling Druid, Hugh Grant as Forge Fitzwilliam the Rogue, and Jason Wong as Dralas. The cast also includes Chloe Coleman and Daisy Head.

Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley directed based on a screenplay they co-wrote with Michael Gilio, which was adapted from an earlier story that Gilio penned with Chris McKay.

A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure.

Partly thanks to Stranger Things, Dungeons & Dragons has experienced a wave of nostalgia and new interest in recent years. And thanks to Game of Thrones, fantasy as a whole has experienced the most mainstream interest that the genre perhaps ever. This movie might arrive at the perfect time.
