Exclusive Preview: Dark Horse Comics ‘The Collector: Unit 731’ #2

Dark Horse Comics has long been known for taking chances on new titles that tell unique stories you won’t find anywhere else. This seems especially pertinent in the case of their latest miniseries, The Collector: Unit 731. This title is an all-new horror-filled period piece set during World War II that details the terrifying events experienced at the mysterious Unit 731. We are excited to bring you an exclusive preview of the series’ upcoming second issue!

Coming from a creative team comprised of co-writer/artist Will Conrad, co-writer Rod Monteiro, and color artist Marco Lesko, The Collector: Unit 731 is a four-issue horror-themed miniseries that published its first issue in April 2022. The series tells the story of the horrifying events that took place during the war from the perspective of a veteran who survived the ordeal.

The first issue of the series introduced us to Michael, who has been around a very long time. Michael finds himself reflecting on his time serving in World War II as he discovers the obituary for one of his brothers-in-arms, John, in the paper. He thinks back to the time served together and the horrors they bore witness to while held as prisoners of war in the Manchuria-based Japanese facility known only as Unit 731.
