*NSYNC Will Reunite For ‘Trolls Band Together’

It looks like Trolls really are good luck!  Those magical imps have managed to accomplish something that seemed impossible… reuniting *NSYNC!  Frontman Justin Timberlake has an ongoing voice role in the Trolls film franchise as Branch and scored one of his biggest pop hits with “Can’t Stop the Feeling” from the first Dreamworks movie in 2016.  That song was nominated for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards and… literally, you couldn’t get away from it for like… years.

Now his former bandmates, Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick, will join him both as characters in the threequel and in the recording studio. *NSYNC will be recording its first new single as a group in over TWO DECADES.

Anna Kendrick co-headlines the Trolls movies as Princess Poppy.  Other cast members of Trolls and the first sequel, 2020’s Trolls World Tour, include James Corden as Biggie, and Ron Funches as Cooper. Others that have appeared in one or the other include Gwen Stefani, Zooey Deschanel, Rachel Bloom, Anderson Paak, Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige, and Kenan Thompson. Most of the musical artists that provided voices also contributed to the soundtracks.

While Bass, Chasez, Fatone, and Kirkpatrick have voice roles in Trolls Band Together, they won’t be playing Branch’s former bandmates.  Instead, those roles have gone to Troye Sivan, Kid Cudi, Daveed Diggs, and Eric André. Together they were Formerly in a boy band with Branch called BroZone.  The plot revolves around Sivan’s character, Floyd, being kidnapped and André’s character, John Dory, tracking down Branch to save him.

In the trailer, Floyd speaks to Branch, saying:

“Branch, we’re out of sync. We’ve gone from boys to men, and now there’s only one direction for us to go: to the back streets.”

Trolls Band Together also features the voices of Camila Cabello, Amy Schumer, and RuPaul.

*NSYNC’s first two albums were certified diamond, having sold over 10 million copies.  Their 2000 album No Strings Attached sold a million copies in one day and 2.4M in one week. This set a record that held for 15 years.  Among their biggest hits were “Tearin’ Up My Heart,” “(God Must Have Spent) A Little More Time on You,” “Music of My Heart” (with Gloria Estefan), “Bye Bye Bye,” “It’s Gonna Be Me,” “This I Promise You,” and their final single “Girlfriend” (with Nelly).

Trolls Band Together will hit theaters on November 17, 2023.
