I WANT THAT!: Daria, Gremlins, and Poochie

I Want That!Welcome to an all-new edition of I Want That! where we will be rounding up and highlighting cool stuff like toys, collectibles, home goods, clothing, and pretty much any other awesome stuff we find on the internet! We are going to try and bring you a little bit of everything so you can also enjoy the cool stuff we find.

The purpose of this is to bring attention to collectibles and other stuff that we think is neat that you may otherwise miss out on, which is a shame because everyone could use a little extra fun in their lives!

In this all-new edition, we’re highlighting a LOT of cool new toys that have hit the market in recent weeks that we were pretty sure you didn’t want to miss out on! Yes, we once again have a pretty heavy focus on toys, but we’ve also got a few other neat items including prop replicas, fashion accessories, and a plush Nicolas Cage for you to cuddle with at night when you’re lonely and the real Nicolas Cage is unavailable.

So what are you waiting for? Here’s some amazing new stuff we think is worth checking out!

DC Multiverse Figures

The team at McFarlane Toys has been killing it with the DC Multiverse line of 7″ scale action figures since they took over the license from Mattel at the beginning of 2020. They have consistently been releasing high-quality figures with well-crafted sculpts that put many others on the market to shame. Their latest offerings continue their trend of offering a healthy mix of different characters from all over the DC Multiverse including live-action films, animated series, video games, and of course, comics!

The newest waves hitting the market include The Flash and Black Suit Superman from the Justice League: Unlimited animated series, Harley Quinn from the live-action Birds Of Prey (2019) film, Armored Batman from The Dark Knight Returns, and plenty of other DC Comics characters including Lobo, Superboy Prime, and The Demon Etrigan! You can pre-order all of these and more here.

Sci-Fi Q-Figs

Quantum Mechanix fan-favorite Q-Figs line of adorable miniature plastic statues has been going on for some time now and only shows signs of getting better with age. While QMX tackled the Facehugger from ALIEN early in the line, we didn’t see much else from that particular franchise for a while after that single piece. Thankfully, they’ve doubled back to the brand with some amazing-looking pieces from some of the franchise’s most popular entries, like Ellen Ripley in the Powerloader and the Alien Queen (with bases that interconnect to form a diorama!), plus an Alien Xenomorph from the first film. They also recently launched a larger scale Q-Fig Max Elite of longtime Alien foe, The Predator! You can bring home the action here!

Funko Marvel Artist Series POP! Vinyl

Everybody knows somebody that is obsessed with collecting Funko’s long-running POP! Vinyls toyline. The line recently debuted the latest in their fan-favorite Marvel Artist Series collection which is based on the Infinity Saga. Each POP! Vinyl figure features a sculpt previously seen in the Avengers: Endgame line, but this time around, the figures themselves are made in a translucent colored vinyl, with each Avengers character taking on the colors of one of the six Infinity Stones. Captain America is blue, Iron Man is yellow, Black Widow is red, Hulk is green, Thor is purple, and Hawkeye is orange. Finally, we have the villainous Thanos, who is an Entertainment Earth exclusive and sports a unique rainbow colorway featuring the colors of all six Infinity Stones. He also has an Infinity Gauntlet-themed display stand. You can add them all to your collection here!

NECA Ultimates Figures

The team at NECA has spent the last decade making a real name for themselves in the collectibles market with their high-end action figures available at (relatively) low-end price points. Their ongoing Ultimates line of figures has become one of the most popular on the market, spanning across countless corners of popular culture and bringing fans the ‘ultimate’ versions of many of their favorite horror and sci-fi characters. Some of their latest offerings include The Mummy from Universal Monsters, the Kessler Wolf from American Werewolf In London, a Halloween II figure 2-pack featuring Ultimate versions of Michael Meyers and Doctor Loomis, plus some beautiful new figures from Gremlins 2: The New Batch like the Brain Gremlin and a Gremlins Demolition 2-pack! You can add these and more to your NECA Ultimates collection here!

Mandy Red Miller Plush

When director Panos Cosmatos’ Mandy was released back in 2018, audiences were blown away by the visceral visual masterpiece. Now you can bring a little bit of Mandy into your own home with your very own plush doll of the film’s protagonist, Red Miller! Yes, you read that right! You can now officially own a plush toy of Nicolas Cage. If that isn’t reason enough to buy one of these, we aren’t sure why you’re even reading this anymore. You can bring him home here!

Life-Size Prop Replicas

If you’ve been collecting for a long time, you will understand why these next few items are particularly exciting! For as long as movies and television shows have been around, people’s desire for life-sized replicas of their favorite on-screen items has been insurmountable. The problem for most collectors, though, is that these items were rarely made. Even if they were, they were often made by high-end companies and out of the price range for most people to casually buy. In the modern world, however, things have changed substantially with companies like NECA, Eaglemoss, and Factory Entertainment bringing us prop replicas that look high-end while remaining at a relatively affordable price point!

NECA recently released life-sized prop replicas of Batman’s Grapnel Launcher from Batman The Animated Series (1993) and a Batarang from Batman (1989). If that isn’t enough Batman for you, Factory Entertainment meets you in the middle with a slightly scaled-down version of Batman’s Grapnel from Batman (1989). Finally, the team at Eaglemoss has a replica of Tony Stark’s iconic Arc Reactor prop as seen in the first Iron-Man (2008) film and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

If you’d rather spend an insane amount of money on an insanely large scale prop replica, we would also love to bring this life-sized Slimer from Ghostbusters to your attention. He is… ridiculous to say the least. The team at NECA really outdid themselves with this one!

Playmobil Vehicle Sets

We recently told you about the astounding-looking Starship Enterprise that Playmobil has in the pipeline for later this year, but did you know that Playmobil has been diving deep into some of your other favorite franchises? Beyond their already classic Ghostbusters Ecto-1 and Back To The Future Delorean, Playmobil recently announced plans for their all-new James Bond 007 Astin Martin and the iconic A-Team Van from the cult classic 1980’s series! You can add them to your collection here!

Daria Fashion Accessories

Even though it has been off the air for two decades, there is still a pretty steady fanbase for MTV’s Daria animated series. The teams at Loungefly and Entertainment Earth have combined forces for some cool Daria accessories you can add to your regular daily ensemble to showcase your fandom for the long since ended series that practically defined the late 90’s and early 00’s. You can add some Daria to your regular style rotations in the form of a Wallet, a Purse, or even something as simple as a set of Enamel Pins! You can pick up the whole set here.

Super7 The Simpsons Ultimates

The Simpsons has been on the air for over 30 Seasons at this point, making it the longest-running scripted primetime series of all time! That makes The Simpsons the perfect fit for Super7’s Ultimates toyline, where they produce ‘Ultimate’ versions of many of your favorite characters from iconic brands. These usually include several accessories, alternative heads and body parts, and all sorts of cool items you wouldn’t find packed in with most standard release figures.  Super7 Ultimates are generally a ‘made to order” item where the company takes pre-orders from a limited time and only one run is done of the figures (unless demand is exceptionally high). Thankfully plenty of online retailers also order a healthy stock of these collectibles to ensure fans can get them long after the pre-order windows have closed, so you can still order many of them here.

As far as the new The Simpsons Ultimates figures, Super7 has some real treats in store for us with some episode-specific characters like Astronaut Homer, Poochie, Robot Itchy, Robot Scratchy, and Moe! Of these, only Moe isn’t really episode-specific, which is great considering that The Simpsons have been done countless times before and these new versions give fans something we have never previously had available in toy form!

Lil Dumpster Fire This is Fine Vinyl Figure

It’s the perfect combination for 2021, a collectible that mashes up the This Is Fine Question Hound and Lil Dumpster Fire to bring the fleeting feeling of despair to your shelves! This figure stands 3 1/2-inches tall and is pretty much the perfect way to commemorate the way the world has been for the last two years. You can order one here!
