***SPOILER ALERT!***  If you don’t want to see SPOILERS for Spider-Man: No Way Home, you may want to turn back now or proceed with caution.

A few days ago, LEGO released images of its upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home building sets and that MAY have included a few SPOILERS from the movie.  But with LEGO, a lot of times, their sets wind up NOT being SPOILERS because the scenes, characters, or costumes don’t actually show up in the finished products.

But among the potential SPOILERS in the LEGO sets were three new costumes for Spider-Man.  Now Funko has released images of its upcoming No Way Home POPs and at the very least, they seem to confirm the new suits that Tom Holland will be sporting in this threequel.

As you can see, this image also confirms the inclusion of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), something that has been rumored and was seemingly confirmed with one of the LEGO sets.  In this image, Strange is wearing… a tee shirt?  A winter coat?  JEANS?  Oh and waterproof boots!  Of course, he is also wearing the Eye of Agamotto and the Cloak of Levitation.  He’s holding a snow shovel.  Was he shoveling snow in front of the Sanctum Sanctorum before having to fight evil?

There are also POPs of Ned (Jacob Batalon) and M.J. (Zendaya), but they don’t really seem that distinct or SPOILERY.

But let’s look closer at the Spider-Man POPs.

This one looks just like the way the character appeared in Far From Home, with the red and black color scheme and the web wings.  If you look back at the LEGO sets, there is one that seems to depict a scene from Far From Home, so I think (and this is just speculation) there will be a flashback to the second flick which might reveal a bit more of what happened during the final battle with Mysterio, the aftermath of which has changed Peter’s life for good.

Night Monkey this isn’t.  As teased by the LEGO sets, it appears that Spidey will get a metallic black and gold suit.  The LEGO toy also showed Spidey slinging metallic gold webs, which may be a new power he demonstrates in No Way Home.

It’s a bit hard to see, but if you look at the gauntlets, they seem fairly ornate.  This color scheme and elaborate accessories call to mind another Marvel character– Black Panther.  It is believed that this film involves the multiverse.  Is there a universe where T’Challa became Spider-Man?  Or is this in the main MCU?  With Tony Stark dead, will T’Challa and Shuri step in to provide Peter with his latest suit of armor?  These are JUST GUESSES, folks, so don’t get mad.

But speaking of mashups…

This is another suit that was glimpsed in the LEGO sets and it looks like the Iron-Spider armor previously seen in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.  BUT, is that an arc reactor on his chest?  Is he casting a spell a la Doctor Strange?  Will Peter be mixing magic and technology in one suit?  OR is this another example of a multiverse twist.  Is there a universe where Peter replaced Tony as Iron Man but then became the Sorcerer Supreme?

This suit raises the most questions!

These reveals are SPOILERY, but without knowing much about what this film is actually about, we’re left to speculate as to how they will actually play into the plot.

It is known that Alfred Molina will reprise the role of Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man 2 and Jamie Foxx will appear as Electro, the character he played in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.  The LEGO sets also seem to indicate that Michael Keaton will appear as The Vulture and Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio may also pop up, perhaps in a flashback

There had been rumors that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield would appear as their versions of Spider-Man, but it seems that has been debunked.  (My guess is that Tom Holland will play all of the alternate versions of Spidey in each universe.)

What do YOU think Spider-Man: No Way Home is about?  Are these new suits for “our” Peter or are these parallel universe versions?

Spider-Man: No Way Home opens in theaters on December 17, 2021.
