LEGO strikes again!  The globally beloved building blocks have a nasty habit of SPOILING upcoming movies by releasing sets revealing certain characters, plot points, and costumes.  Then again, sometimes these sets turn out to simply be “inspired” by these movies or based on earlier scripts, and the toys featured don’t actually appear in the finished pictures.

So it’s up to you whether you consider the new Spider-Man: No Way Home sets to be SPOILERS or not.  The first and perhaps most SPOILER-Y is called “Spider-Man at the Sanctum Workshop” and the Sanctum in question is none other than the Sanctum Sanctorum, the mystical abode of Doctor Strange.

Indeed, the set includes Minifigures of Doctor Strange and Wong, hinting that they may appear.  There are also Minifigures of Zendaya’s Michelle “M.J.” Jones, and Spider-Man.  It should be noted that this Spider-Man is wearing a brand new suit, which based on these pictures, looks sort of like a combination of the last suit the hero wore in Spider-Man: Far From Home and the Iron Spider suit from Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.

The Sanctum Sanctorum is a mysterious building filled with magical artifacts… and threats.  In this set, it appears the heroes will be menaced by a giant spider-like monster as well as smaller arachnids.  There also appear to be two serpents.

In this box image, the giant spider has Wong in its clutches and M.J. is running to the rescue with a candle abra.

But, while Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and his Sanctum are magical in nature, in the box image below, Doctor Strange is holding a wrench and behind him appears to be a mechanical workshop, perhaps where they constructed or worked on the motorcycle S[ider-Man is shown riding.

It should also be noted that Wong (Benedict Wong) is on a computer.  So while this location may be crawling with supernatural threats, there is some trace of technology.

RUMOR has it,  that Peter Parker (Tom Holland) seeks refuge with Doctor Strange in No Way Home after being outed by J. Jonah Jameson at the end of Far From Home.  The RUMOR also states that M.J. and Ned (Jacob Batalon) accompany him, as they have been branded as accomplices to his vigilante activities and the alleged criminal acts as revealed by Mysterio’s doctored video footage, which Jameson also aired to the world.

Also RUMORED is that No Way Home will involve the multiverse, and Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum is a logical gateway to that.

This No Way Home LEGO set is being released alongside two sets which are also labeled as being from No Way Home but might not be.

First is “Spider-Man Vs. Mysterio’s Drone Attack”:

Unless there is a flashback in No Way Home, this set actually seems to be based on Far From Home.  In that film, Spidey did indeed battle Mysterio and his drones.  This set comes with Minifigures of Spidey, looking pretty much as he did in Far From Home, Mysterio, and Nick Fury.

But next comes “Spider-Man’s Drone Duel”:

The first thing to notice is that this set includes The Vulture (Michael Keaton), the villain from Homecoming, the first film in this series. Now, The Vulture’s return was teased at the end of that picture, but so far, Keaton has only popped up in the trailer for Morbius, which may or may not even be set in the same universe/timeline.

This LEGO set features Spidey in a black and gold uniform AND spinning golden webs!  Is this a new enhancement from the upcoming movie?  If so, does this mean that The Vulture will be back?  This sure makes it seem that way!

Guess we’ll find out when Spider-Man: No Way Home opens on December 17, 2021.  Perhaps after seeing the film, these LEGO sets may make better sense and could wind up under more than a few Christmas trees!
