Jeremy Renner is on the road to recovery following his snow plow accident on New Year’s Day.  Sadly, this looks to be a long and rocky road. On the plus side, Renner seems to be diving into his treatment with a positive outlook.

The Hawkeye actor shared details about his rehabilitation process and even shared more details about the extent of his injuries.  At the time of the accident, it was only known that his legs and chest had been partially crushed after being run over by his PistenBully snow plow, a machine that weighs approximately 14,330 pounds.

In an Instagram post, Renner revealed that he broke “30 plus bones.”

In full, he captioned his post:

“Morning workouts, resolutions all changed this particular new years …. Spawned from tragedy for my entire family, and quickly focused into uniting actionable love ❤️ I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness for my family and I …. Much love and appreciation to you all. These 30 plus broken bones will mend , grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens . Love and blessings to you all 🙏❤️🙏.”

Previously, sources that are supposedly close to Renner reported to Radar that the actor’s recovery will likely take years.  He has already undergone two surgeries, including one to allegedly reconstruct his chest after it was nearly crushed.  He will most likely undergo more surgeries moving forward with doctors spacing them out to allow the body’s natural healing process to do its job.

For Marvel Cinematic Universe fans, if there is a silver lining to be found, it’s that Renner’s role as Clint Barton appears to have been wrapped up in the Disney+ Hawkeye series, with him passing the baton to Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld).  This happened essentially the same way it did in the comics. Although in those, Clint remained a major supporting character, acting as Kate’s “guy in the chair,” a.k.a. “Hawk Guy.”

But depending on Renner’s recovery, that could still happen in the TV shows and movies.

Once again, best wishes to Jeremy Renner, and here’s hoping for a speedy recovery.
