Harrison Ford may have plenty of luck at the box office, but when it comes to making films, it’s another story entirely! The legendary Star Wars actor recently suffered an injury on set while working on Indiana Jones 5.

Filming on this long-awaited sequel began earlier this month in the UK at Pinewood Studios with director James Mangold. The 78-year-old actor was reportedly injured while rehearsing for a fight scene in the film. Deadline reports that the severity of Ford’s injury is still unclear, but that the actor injured his shoulder.

Apparently, it was damaging enough that Disney decided to release a statement about the incident, saying:

In the course of rehearsing for a fight scene, Harrison Ford sustained an injury involving his shoulder. Production will continue while the appropriate course of treatment is evaluated, and the filming schedule will be reconfigured as needed in the coming weeks.

Oddly enough, this isn’t the first time that Ford has had an on-set accident that caused him injury while returning to one of his past roles. Back in 2016, while returning to the role of Rick Deckard for the decades late sequel Blade Runner 2049, Ford accidentally clocked co-star Ryan Gosling in the jaw when he was supposed to be faking the punch. In addition to Gosling taking the hit to the face, Ford managed to hurt his own hand on Gosling’s strong chin!

Before that, Ford injured his leg back in 2014 while reprising the role of Han Solo for Star Wars: The Force Awakens when a hydraulic door on the Millennium Falcon set suddenly closed on its own.

The currently untitled Indiana Jones 5 marks the sixth time (yes we are counting the bookend sequences in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (1993)!) that Ford is taking up the role of the legendary archaeologist-turned-action-hero. He last donned the character’s iconic fedora over a decade ago in Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull (2008). While story details are nonexistent at this time, Indiana Jones 5 may well be his most exciting adventure yet!

At 78-years-old, Ford isn’t exactly a spring chicken. Here’s hoping that he has a quick recovery and can continue to film what will likely be his final turn as arguably the most iconic character of his career. Indiana Jones 5 is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 28, 2022.
