Hot Naked Superboy *AHEM* I Mean ‘Titans’ Is Set To Return On HBO Max In August

For fans of the Titans TV series, there is good news!  The series, which was the anchor of the fairly short-lived DC Universe streaming service, will return on HBO Max this August for its third season.  A specific date was not announced, but members of the cast, both old and new, put together an announcement video which was released via Twitter indicating the month in which fans can look forward to the continuing adventures of Nightwing, Raven, Beast Boy, Starfire, Superboy, Hawk & Dove, and Ravager. Included in the video are newcomers (or relative newcomers) Savannah Welch who will be playing Barbra Gordon, formerly Batgirl and Dick’s girlfriend, who is now the new police commissioner of Gotham City (where S3 will be set), Jay Lycurgo who will play Tim Drake, and Damaris Lewis, who plays Blackfire, Kory’s evil sister.

S3 will also add Vincent Kartheiser as Jonathan Crane who perhaps used to be the Scarecrow, but looks to have turned over a new leaf and is now working with the GCPD as a criminal profiler.

According to the cast, fans can expect S3 to be “Dark, mysterious, exciting, heartbreaking.. action-packed, [and] fun.”

Watch the official announcement video below:

Titans stars Brenton Thwaites as Nightwing/Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire/Kory Anders/Koriand’r, Teagan Croft as Raven/Rachel Roth, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy/Garfield “Gar” Logan, Curran Walters as Robin #2/Jason Todd (and Tim Drake’s introduction can’t be a good thing for him), Minka Kelly as Dove/Dawn Granger, Alan Ritchson as Hawk/Hank Hall, Chelsea Zhang as Ravager/Rose Wilson, and Joshua Orpin as Superboy (just… “Superboy” for now… Um… pictured above!).  There are rumors that Conor Leslie’s Wonder Girl/Donna Troy may return in S3, but we’ll see.  (That’s a sore subject as she is my favorite character from the comics.)

In a separate interview with Collider, Thwaites stated:

“It’s the best season yet, and I’m not using hyperbole. Show shows are very big, and this is one of those shows that’s very big. It’s a huge cast. It’s a huge property. There are a million different ways to tell the story and it sometimes takes a season or two to figure out who to focus on and what exactly is driving this thing. They’ve done a really good job. All of the seasons have been good, but there’s an excellence to this because everybody has figured out what we wanna focus on and who we wanna tell the story through. It’s just a little more focused than it has been, and it’s working really well. It’s the best season yet, by far.”

Okay so, full disclosure, Marv Wolfman and George Perez’s New Teen Titans is my favorite comic book ever.  The show has deviated (A. LOT.) from that, but… I mean, I’m this far in.  I’m not just gonna stop watching it.

Are you excited for more Titans?
