Back in 2018, Warner Brothers launched a new streaming service dedicated to movies and television shows from DC Comics called DC Universe. One of the shows available on the platform was Titans, a gritty reimagining of the Teen Titans featuring members from both the comics and the animated series. Though DC Universe is now defunct, Titans continues its run on the other WB-owned streaming service, HBO Max, and they recently revealed a stunning new costume for the main antagonist of the upcoming Season Three.
A pair of images released on the official Titans Twitter account showcases Blackfire’s (Damaris Lewis) interstellar-inspired outfit. The second season of the show ended on a cliffhanger that implied that Blackfire would become the main antagonist of the series, facing off against her sister, Starfire (Anna Diop), for the throne of Tamaran.
The news of Blackfire’s supersuit comes a few months after HBO revealed a new outfit for Starfire on the show. In Titans, Starfire, who is more often than not referred to as Kory, consistently wears street clothes or less flashy battle suits when facing off against the bad guys, which is a stark contrast to the majority of the cast, who often run around in uniforms similar to their comic book counterparts.
It will definitely be interesting to see how the events of Titans go down in the third season. While Kory has to figure out her familial issues and her sovereignty, the team has to deal with not only the loss of a couple of their members but also the addition of a few. Not to mention the new additions that WB has promised for Season Three, like Tim Drake, Barbara Gordon, and Red Hood. Titans certainly has become a reason to maintain an HBO Max account, that’s for sure.
