During a recent appearance on (the Disney owned) Good Morning America, Jon Favreau shared some early details for the Star Wars series ‘Ahsoka’, ‘Rangers’, and ‘Fett’ coming to Disney+.

In the 5-minute socially distanced interview, Favreau talked about his 2021 projects stating production on the Book of Boba Fett has already begun. It will come to Disney+ next December. Also, Season 3 of The Mandalorian is in pre-production and will begin filming as soon as Fett is finished. Both series will air on Disney+ next December. The bounty hunter’s series was not among the projects announced during last month’s Disney Investor Zoom call. That and one other big secret stayed unspoiled.

Favreau also briefly talked about the other two live-action series set in the same, post-Return of the Jedi time period. Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic both are in pre-production.

Ahsoka Show Runner David Filoni (The Mandalorian, Star Wars: The Clone Wars) has begun writing the series which will star Rosario Dawson. Dawson portrayed the character’s live-action debut in Chapter 13 of The Mandalorian, “The Jedi.” The character first appeared in the animated feature film Star Wars: The Clone Wars. There, and in the animated series that followed, actress Ashley Eckstein provided her voice. Not coincidently, Filoni directed The Clone Wars film and many of the series’ episodes. Other than that, not much is yet known about the series. Considering her interest in Grand Admiral Thrawn during the Mandalorian, he is expected to be crucial to the series.

Even fewer details have come out about Rangers. The story follows a team of New Republic soldiers trying to keep the peace on the edge of Republic territory. Other than that, not much is known. Some say that Marshall Cara Dune (Gina Carano) could feature in the series.

Considering the connections between both the story and production teams of all four series, could we expect a Netflix Defenders style event cross over series at some point?  Who’s to say? But Disney seems to be betting big that we will want to see more from a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away.
