Jonathan Majors Dropped By Managers, PR Firm, Multiple Film And Advertising Projects

Weeks after Jonathan Majors was arrested for domestic assault, there has finally been some development in that story. Unfortunately, the actor’s career is taking some big hits.  Majors was arrested on March 25 and an unnamed female victim was taken to the hospital and treated for “minor injuries” around her head and neck.  However, Majors will not appear in court until May 8.

In the meantime, Majors has been dropped by his managers, Entertainment 360, and his PR firm, Lede Company.  As reported by Deadline, these separations are due to Majors’ current personal issues.

Upon his arrest, a commercial Majors made for the U.S. Army was pulled.  Now he has been dropped from Protagonist Pictures’ The Man in My Basement and Otis and Zelma, a biopic of classic R&B singer Otis Redding, as well as another ad campaign for the Texas Rangers baseball team.

On a perhaps lesser scale, Majors has also been uninvited from the Met Gala.

Majors’ star has been on the rise over the past few years.  He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for starring in Lovecraft Country.  He landed the plum role of Kang the Conqueror, the “next Thanos” of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, debuting on the series Loki before hitting the big screen in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.  Majors was (is?) also set to return in Loki Season 2, in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and possibly even Avengers: Secret Wars.

Apart from the MCU, Majors co-starred in one of this year’s biggest hits Creed III.  He also, unfortunately, saw one of his first headlining roles, the historical war movie Devotion, flop last year.  On the flip side, he earned raves for his role in the Disney/Searchlight Sundance darling Magazine Dreams.

There have been plenty of RUMORS that Marvel is looking to recast the part of Kang. So far nothing has been confirmed and the studio has remained mum.  Reportedly, Majors has already completed filming for Loki Season 2, so it would require a lot of money (possibly in the millions) to replace him just in that one project.

Currently, Majors is still attached to Spike Lee’s Amazon Studios film Da Understudy and to Lionsgate’s 48 Hours in Vegas, in which he will play Dennis Rodman.

Stay tuned for updates as they arrive.
