‘Creed’ And Marvel Star Jonathan Majors Arrested For Domestic Assault

In a shocking turn of events, one of the hottest rising actors in Hollywood, Jonathan Majors, was arrested in New York City on Saturday, March 25, on charges of domestic violence.

According to a statement from the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information:

“A preliminary investigation determined that a 33-year-old male was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old female.  The victim informed police she was assaulted. Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition.”

However, a statement from a representative of the actor read:

“He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.”

Further, Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudry informed Deadline:

“Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is provably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows.  We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently.”

Sadly, this mirrors the conflict between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard which has, so far, boiled down to a “he said, she said” situation with different courts siding with both sides.  Depp even claimed to have proof that it was Heard that had abused him, but the British court saw differently and took Heard’s side.  Hopefully, Majors’ “proof” is a bit more compelling.

Jonathan Majors stars in two of the biggest hits of 2023 so far, Creed III, in which he plays the antagonist Damian, and perhaps more importantly, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, in which he plays Kang the Conqueror, who was set to become the Big Bad of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with another entire movie actually named after him, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.  Majors was also generating great buzz for starring in the indie/film festival circuit, Magazine Dreams.

The US Army has yanked TV commercials that featured Majors pending further information about this case.  It remains to be seen how MGM (who are behind the Creed franchise) or Disney (the MCU) will react to this situation.

Ezra Miller in The Flash
Warner Bros.

Infamously, Warner Brothers did absolutely nothing to react to the MANY allegations brought against Ezra Miller, the star of The Flash, which the studio hopes will be its next big hit.  Miller has been accused of assault, grooming, and theft among other things. The only incident that has come before a judge found the actor guilty of the misdemeanor of trespassing and only being sentenced to one year of probation.

Majors’ story is still unfolding, and will hopefully come to a swift resolution without any further legal action.  But we shall see.

Stay tuned for updates.
