No Way Down: Extended ‘Uncharted’ Clip Sends Tom Holland Flying Off An Airplane

Tom Holland as Nathan Drake in Uncharted
Sony

The highly anticipated Uncharted movie comes out in February, and Sony seems anxious for Tom Holland to prove himself as a leading man outside of the Spider-Man/MCU franchise.  Stakes are high… about as high as the airplane in this new extended clip from an action scene in Uncharted.

Holland plays Nathan Drake, the treasure hunter lead of the best-selling Playstation/Naughty Dog video game series.  Mark Wahlberg plays his mentor Victor “Sully” Sullivan.  As is revealed in this clip, Tati Gabrielle is one of the film’s villains, Braddock.  Sophia Ali plays Chloe Frazer, another treasure hunter and Nate’s love interest.  Though he doesn’t appear in this clip, Antonio Banderas will also co-star as Moncada, the film’s major bad guy and probably Braddock’s boss.  Ruben Fleischer, the mastermind behind the Zombieland franchise, helmed this adaptation.

Street-smart thief Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to recover a fortune lost by Ferdinand Magellan 500 years ago. What starts as a heist job for the duo becomes a globe-trotting, white-knuckle race to reach the prize before the ruthless Moncada (Antonio Banderas), who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs. If Nate and Sully can decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries, they stand to find $5 billion in treasure and perhaps even Nate’s long-lost brother…but only if they can learn to work together.

Speaking of white knuckles, I am terrified of heights and any movie with action scenes with high-up stunts makes my hands and feet sweat.  (See the skyscraper fight in Shang-Chi.)  So naturally, this scene from Uncharted which takes place on a flying cargo plane… and outside of it… is just the sort of thing that scares the hell out of me.

Check out the new clip below:

That cliffhanger ending didn’t help my anxiety!

I must admit, this sequence seems incredibly implausible, but having not seen the rest of the movie, it’s possible that Fleischer will set this movie up as being over the top in a fun way and it will be more believable to see Holland hopping from one crate that is dangling off the back of a soaring airplane to another.

Check out Uncharted when it flies into theaters on February 11!
