Months after it first premiered exclusively on the HBO Max streaming service, Zack Snyder‘s 4-hour director’s cut of Justice League is heading to home video with an official physical media release.

Warner Bros. has announced that Zack Snyder’s Justice League will officially be releasing on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD on September 7th.

This is a welcome surprise for movie fans who still curate their collections with physical media. In a world full of subscription streaming services, not every new film or series is guaranteed to see a physical media release. Fans of Snyder’s take on the Justice League will gladly throw more money at Warner Bros. in hopes that the studio will see Snyder’s film more profitable and change their minds about moving forward with a sequel.

There are currently not many details available as to what (if any) special bonus features may be included on this physical media release, but the Ultra HD Blu-ray disc release will feature a Dolby Atmos soundtrack remixed specifically for a home theater environment.

In Zack Snyder’s Justice League, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad, and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.

The Ultra HD Blu-ray disc of Zack Snyder’s Justice League will feature a Dolby Atmos® soundtrack remixed specifically for the home theater environment to place and move audio anywhere in the room, including overhead. To experience Dolby Atmos at home, a Dolby Atmos enabled AV receiver and additional speakers are required, or a Dolby Atmos enabled sound bar; however, Dolby Atmos soundtracks are also fully backward compatible with traditional audio configurations and legacy home entertainment equipment.

You can add a physical media copy of Zack Snyder’s Justice League to your collection on September 7th, 2021.
