Expect Ciri to play a much larger role in The Witcher Season 2, as Netflix has unveiled the first teaser trailer and the princess is essentially the sole focus. Ciri (full name: Cirilla, played by Freya Alan) began as a child in Season 1, who must flee her kingdom of Cintra after it is invaded by a neighboring army.
Ciri has an as-yet-unexplained connection to The Witcher, Gerald of Rivia (Henry Cavill), and her grandmother, Queen Calanthe, urges her to seek him out. Meanwhile, Geralt learns of his destiny to find Ciri from the sorceress Renfri, after they battle and he fatally wounds her.
In the new clip, Ciri is all grown up and is a sword-slinging badass! However, at the end of Season 1, she and Geralt had not yet been united. I’m not familiar with the books or games on which this show is based, so I’m just guessing that at some point they found each other and he was the one who taught her these new fighting skills.
The new clip was unveiled by Netflix during its first annual “Geeked Week,” a virtual con of sorts, which the streaming service used to plug its upcoming genre projects.

This was the only Witcher reveal at “Geeked Week” which also featured looks at The Umbrella Academy, Sweet Tooth, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Revelation, and more.
But it appears that Netflix was just holding back. If you want more Witcher, the streaming service will hold WitcherCon, another virtual event on July 9.
Based on the promo art, WictherCon will showcase not just the Netflix series, but the popular video games, created by CD PROJEKT RED, as well. Makes of the games and Henry Cavill are confirmed to appear. Also, expect an update on the animated movie Nightmare of the Wolf.
