It’s been a while, but Comic Cons are coming back. And the biggest convention on the East Coast, New York Comic Con, just announced their plans for tickets for NYCC2021.
As a result, the purchase process of NYCC 2021 badges will be different this year. To allow for better social distancing, and other pandemic safety precautions, they are limiting the number of tickets being sold and making it harder to get them.
New York Comic Con has eliminated the very popular multiday passes:
“In order to allow the max amount of fans safely into the building, we have removed our 4-Day badges and moved to Single Day badges only (don’t worry, we’ll bring them back as soon as we can). At this time, badges to NYCC 2021 will only be available for purchase by you, our legacy fans, who were Fan Verified in 2019, and for fans who sign up for the Metaverse Superfan Membership*.”
So, if you want to go to the Con in 2021 here are some important dates to mark on your calendars:
Friday, June 11: FV rollover email
Sunday, July 11 at 10:00 AM ET: NYCC 2021 Fan Verification Onsale
If you attended NYCC in 2019 and are already signed up as a “verified fan” you’ll receive an email in your inbox from ShowClix to confirm or update your Fan Ver account info for 2021. So make sure to update your information!
On July 11, verified fans will be able to begin purchasing badges beginning at 10 am.
The NYCC Fan Verification sale is available to folks who were Fan Verified in 2019 ONLY. If you’re eligible for the sale, you’ll be able to buy badges for friends and family who want to attend for the first time or who haven’t attended for a few years and want to come back. You will have to assign those badges to your friend or family member’s email address, and they will be prompted to create a Fan Ver account to accept the badges after purchase.
Metaverse Memberships
NYCC has been cooking up something exciting and new for this year for their super fans! Launching in late June, NYCC fans will be able to sign up for a Metaverse Membership that gives you first access to NYCC badges, photo ops & autographing tickets, and paid digital experiences. The membership will also include exclusive access to video content and celebrity panels, an exclusive enamel membership pin, and access to exclusive NYCC merchandise online.
Anyone can purchase a Metaverse Membership so make sure to spread the word! And anyone who becomes a Superfan has first access to a stress-free buying experience for two (2) badges per type to New York Comic Con 2021 between the launch date in June and July 8 at 11:59 PM ET.
