With the release of Warner Bros. Justice League: The Snyder Cut quickly approaching, the fan anticipation for the upcoming director’s cut is quite palpable. The film, now officially known as Zack Snyder’s Justice League, has been hotly debated since the theatrically released version of Justice League was released back in 2017 and now that it is actually almost here, the hype might just be bigger than ever.
This week at IGN Fest, Zack Snyder had something extra special prepared for people that are looking forward to the film: the premiere of an all-new clip for the film! To top it all off, the clip is jam-packed with Easter Eggs for longtime DC Comics fans and for those who have enjoyed his take on the DC Universe.
The clip is titled ‘Mother Box Origins‘ and is a CG sequence rather than actually filmed footage. You can check it out above!
As seen in the clip, we see one of the infamous Mother Boxes rotating and showing different members of the Justice League on each side of the six-sided cube. The camera slows on each side and focuses on the individual members of the Justice League, highlighting aspects of the characters and their origin stories. Snyder said that he designed these glimpses of the heroes and their mythos and loaded them with Easter Eggs for both the history of the character and his plans for their future had they continued onward.
I doodled all those. There’s a million Easter eggs in it, and if you go look there’s storylines that I had been working on that if the film had been continued or if you look at the past histories, there’s a bunch of little details in there for everybody. It’s really worth taking a long slow look at because it’s really fun, and I think for fans it’s really a treat.
In just a few short weeks, the world will finally be able to witness Zack Snyder’s truest vision for the film in an epic 4-hour director’s cut. In addition to what had previously been planned in his initial vision, the final version of Zack Snyder’s Justice League will include a considerable amount of new footage and even some whole new sequences that had not been planned for the original film.

In Zack Snyder’s Justice League, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad, and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.
Fans will finally get a chance to watch Zack Snyder’s Justice League when it hits the HBO Max on March 18, 2021.
