See How The World Went Quiet In The Trailer For ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’

While A Quiet Place: Part Two delved into the beginning of the alien invasion, get set for a deeper look on a much bigger scale with A Quiet Place: Day One, set in the sprawling — and NOISY — metropolis of New York City. The first two Quiet Place movies were big hits but were still somewhat intimate. This new prequel cranks things up quite a bit.

Lupita Nyong’o stars as Sam, the main character. Instead of children, it appears that Sam is mainly concerned with keeping her cat alive. Shades of Alien perhaps?

Also included in the cast is Djimon Hounsou, who returns from Part Two as the mysterious Man of the Island, plus Stranger Things breakout Joseph Quinn as a character named Eric, Alex Wolff, and Denis O’Hare. Michael Sarnoski (Pig) directed and penned the screenplay based on a story he worked on with John Krasinski, who wrote and helmed the first two installments.

At Cinemacon last year, Krasinski declared:

“One of my great joys has been in creating and expanding the Quiet Place universe.”

He described the setting as “the loudest city in the world, New York.”

You can watch the trailer for A Quiet Place: Day One below:

As you can see, the trailer opens with footage from the first movie on Day 471 after the invasion. It then cuts to the second movie, before rewinding to Day One.

The first movie starred Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmons, and Noah Jupe.  The second subtracted Krasinski but added Hounsou and Cillian Murphy. None of these actors are expected to appear in Day One, however, Krasinski is working on another sequel, A Quiet Place: Part III in which they may resurface. That will be directed by Krasinski and is expected to be released next year.

As for A Quiet Place: Day One, that arrives on June 28, 2024. Are you excited to return to this reality even without most of the former cast?
