The trailer for Dean Devlin’s highly anticipated new TV show The Ark was recently released and it’s already generating a lot of buzz.

The series follows the story of a group of people aboard the Ark One, a self-sustaining city in space that is meant to find a new home for humanity as it flees a dying Earth. While en route, a catastrophic event knocks them off course and kills everyone in charge of running the ship. The remaining members must work together to complete the mission with what is left of their few life-sustaining supplies. With the future of humanity at stake, the crew must use their brilliant minds and resourcefulness to find a way to stay alive until they reach their destination. However, the moral and personal challenges of the mission lead to conflict, as well as bring to the surface their deepest fears and dark tendencies.

‘The Ark’ Boasts An Impressive Pedigree 

Dean Devlin created the series and serves as co-showrunner alongside Jonathan Glassner. If those names sound familiar, it is because they have contributed to the success of many well-loved sci-fi projects. Devlin has a history of producing and co-writing popular genre films and series such as Independence Day, Godzilla, and Stargate. Glassner, on the other hand, is known for his work on Stargate SG-1 and Falling Skies. Together, they co-produce The Outpost which is currently on the CW.

As for the cast, The Ark stars Christie Burke, Richard Fleeshman, Reece Ritchie, Stacey Read, Ryan Adams, Christina Wolfe, Shalini Peiris, Miles Barrow, Pavle Jerinić, Tiana Upcheva, and Lisa Brenner.
