Disney+ has announced the cast of its upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte and it’s a star-studded affair.  Perhaps most notable is Carrie-Anne Moss, best known for co-starring in The Matrix franchise.  Her lengthy and varied career includes movies like MementoDisturbia, and the 2015 version of Frankenstein and TV series like Chuck, Vegas, Humans, Tell Me A Story, and most recently the Norwegian crime drama Wisting.  Besides playing Trinity in The Matrix saga, perhaps her most famous part was that of Jeri Hogarth in the various Netflix Marvel shows, particularly Jessica Jones.

The description of The Acolyte reads: “a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.”

This series was created by Russian Doll‘s Leslye Headland, who acts as showrunner and executive producer.
