Ezra Miller Met With Warner Bros. Executives To Apologize And Determine The Future Of ‘The Flash’

Troubled actor Ezra Miller, who has entered treatment for mental health after years of problematic behavior, recently met with executives at Warner Bros. to discuss their future.  Miller stars in two of the studio’s largest franchises, Fantastic Beasts (although they may be done with that brand) and the DCEU.  In particular, Miller stars in the high-stakes superhero flick The Flash, which WB seems intent on releasing in theaters.

Last Wednesday, Miller and their agent, CAA’s Scott Metzger, met with WB’s new film chairs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy. It appears that De Luca and Abdy had considered scrapping The Flash despite the studio already spending $200 million to produce it. Though it was a closed meeting, Miller reportedly reaffirmed their commitment to The Flash and apologized for bringing negative attention to this project and the studio as a whole.

While Miller didn’t seem to care about the negative headlines regarding their behavior, they became “spooked” when it seemed that The Flash was in danger.  According to a source (via The Hollywood Reporter):

“They care about The Flash. It’s one of their favorite characters to play.”

Well… this may be true, but I guarantee they WON’T be playing Barry Allen/The Flash in the future.  But perhaps Miller sees this as being their biggest role and professional opportunity yet.

Warner Bros. is determined to release The Flash on June 23, 2023, despite recently shuffling the release dates of two other DC movies, Shazam!: Fury of the Gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom to avoid competing with Avatar: The Way of Water.

Over the past few years, Miller has found themself at the center of controversy for multiple assaults, robbery, and even forming a cult and grooming underage girls.  Not a good look when it comes to someone who is supposed to be starring in family-friendly franchises like Fantastic Beasts and the DCEU.

Warner Bros. has been noticeably mum throughout all of Miller’s questionable exploits.  Yet through it all, it was never hinted that The Flash wouldn’t be released as it is rumored to be essential to the company’s future DC projects. It may have also played a part in the cancellation of the Batgirl movie, which was supposed to come out after The Flash.

For the time being, it appears that The Flash will still open on June 23, 2023.  Will Ezra Miller make themself available to promote it?  We’ll see.
