The First Eight Minutes Of ‘Stranger Things 4’ Are Absolutely Brutal!

Matthew Modine as Matthew Brenner in Stranger Things 4
Netflix

We’re just days away from the release of the first part of Stranger Things 4, and the streaming service has teased fans with the release of the first eight minutes. WARNING!!!  This is possibly the most brutal and bloody eight minutes this series has delivered yet. This could also explain why “Pappa” Brenner (Matthew Modine) has always acted so coldly towards Eleven in the seasons. (Oh God, can Eleven please NOT get the Daenerys/Wanda villain turn treatment this season?  PLEASE?!?!)

Before we proceed, go ahead and check out the opening scene below:

So soon after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it looks like we’re getting another dark turn for a powerful female protagonist. I desperately hope this is just completely misleading and Eleven isn’t the monster that Wanda turned into in that film.

But on that same note, does this mean that Brenner isn’t the monster he’s been made out to be in past seasons? We’ll find out on Friday, I suppose.

Here’s When Part I Will Be Released

Along with the release of this opening scene, Netflix announced that Stranger Things 4 will release the first seven episodes on Friday, May 27. Previously, it was announced that only five episodes would be released on that date. That means that only two episodes will be released on July 1 as “Part Two.”  However, just a few days ago, it was announced that Season 4 would contain episodes that were movie-length, with the finale consisting of roughly two and a half hours.

It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins.  Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.

At the end of Season 3, Eleven moved with the Byers family to California. The new season will be split across four locations between California, Hawkins, Siberia, and… ??? I believe the fourth location is the Upside Down, which was heavily featured in the last trailer that was released. Ugh. Just watching scenes in the Upside Down makes me cold.  Hopefully, there won’t be that many of them.

Well, just a few more days until the return of Stranger Things!  Are you ready?
