HBO is finally bringing back Westworld for a fourth season, and we’re getting hyped! The trailer leaked before HBO made it official, but the network just went with it and let the new footage stay out there. Not only that, we now know when Westworld Season 4 will be released on HBO Max.

The teaser shows Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) and her fellow Hosts continuing to deal with their newfound emotions while trying to figure out what kind of future they want. The footage features no dialogue and is set to Lou Reed’s haunting song “Perfect Day.” In typical Westworld fashion, there is some incredible sci-fi imagery, what looks to be a dystopian version of New York City (why must it always be New York?), and bugs in the system … like a lot of bugs.

Take a look at the glorious footage below:

The series will return for eight episodes and is described as “a dark odyssey about the fate of sentient life on earth.” From the look of the trailer, they aim to deliver.

Season 3 of Westworld ended in 2020. (Yes, 2 years ago!) Despite declining ratings, the dystopian series is reportedly set to continue through Season 6, thanks to a nine-figure deal that showrunners and co-creators Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan signed with Amazon.

In addition to Wood, Thandiwe Newton and Ed Harris will be returning as Maeve and the Man in Black, respectively. Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Luke Hemsworth, and Aaron Paul are also set to reprise their roles.

You’ll have time to rewatch Seasons 1-3 of Westworld as the first episode of Season 4 will drop on June 26, 2022, on HBO Max.
