Comic Cons and cosplay are back! Comic conventions are always a fun place to be; A large space with loads of the best comics, collectibles, celebrities, and of course, a collection of people who love all of it! It’s been a long couple of years as the world deals with the ongoing global pandemic, and while things are thankfully moving along the right track, it will probably be a while before everything is truly “back to normal.” But the recent return of comic conventions brings us a taste of what the world once was “in the before time.” And with the return of comic conventions comes the return of cosplay!
One of our absolute favorite aspects of conventions has always been the mass amounts of cosplayers that are drawn to the events. People come from all over the world to celebrate their favorite fandoms by dressing up as all of the characters they love most! These people will spend countless hours pouring themselves into crafting some of the most detailed costumes you’ve ever seen just to walk around a crowded convention center and show off their hard work!
It doesn’t matter what corner of popular culture a character comes from. Someone, somewhere, has absolutely cosplayed them in some way, shape, or form. People are creative as hell. We don’t know about you, but we absolutely love seeing what everyone comes up with every time we head out to another convention!
This past week, we were live on the show floor at the inaugural event of Fan Expo Philly! This annual event was previously known as Wizard World Philly. It became part of Fan Expo when Fan Expo purchased and absorbed the Wizard World brand under their banner. Thankfully, cosplayers were out in full force to celebrate the launch, and we were able to find some stellar costumes to bring to you here!
