At this point, Spider-Man: No Way Home may just be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s biggest film of the year, if not the biggest film of 2021. Rumors have been swirling about the film as it opens up a live-action Spider-verse with the return of former Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield to the franchise. We have already seen that villains from both previous wall crawlers will be taking part in the three-quel.  Electro and The Lizard from the Garfield era, and Sandman, Doc Ock, and Green Goblin from the original Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire films have been confirmed or are expected to appear.

Tonight the 2nd and final trailer debuted at a fan event in Los Angeles at 5:30pm (8:30 EST) and quickly appeared on Sony and Marvel’s Twitter feed. I could sit here and tell you about it, but why don’t you just check it out below:

The event, which was also live-streamed to a theatre in Mexico City, went nuts when Tom Holland entered the theater.  They didn’t waste time getting right to the trailer. Fans hoping to see multiple Spider-Men fighting side by side might want to skip it because while we get a lot of great action with all the villains, we only get to see one itsy bitsy Spider-Man.

There has been some speculation that one of the reasons this trailer has taken so long to come out is because Marvel and Sony have been disagreeing on the strategy. Sony, it is said, wants to get it out that Tobey and Andrew are in the movie, but Marvel wants to keep it under wraps until the film hits theatres. But there have been a few leaks that seem to confirm they will appear. The best leak came via a video of Garfield in a Spider-Man suit. (Which Garfield said was fake or at least not from this film.)

Spider-Man No Way Home lands exclusively in movie theaters on December 17.  It stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon with Marisa Tomei, Willam DeFoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx directed Jon Watts
