It’ll Be Agatha All Along In An All New ‘WandaVision’ Spinoff Series

Fans weren’t quite sure what to expect when Disney and Marvel Studios premiered their first-ever original streaming series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe earlier this year with WandaVision. The show ended up being a massive hit with audiences and critics, quickly cementing Marvel’s foothold on the streaming platform. We knew we were going to be spending some time with fan-favorite Avengers heroes Wanda Maximoff (aka The Scarlet Witch) and Vision, but what we didn’t know is that something sinister was lurking in the rafters all along.

At their Disney+ Day event, Disney and Marvel Studios announced plans for several new Marvel streaming series, including a spinoff series that will follow WandaVision‘s surprise twist of a villain, Agatha Harkness. The new series, titled Agatha: House Of Harkness, will follow Katheryn Hahn’s Agatha in an adventure, unlike anything that we’ve seen before.

Story details are virtually nonexistent for now, but WandaVision‘s head writer Jac Schaeffer is already on board in the same capacity for House Of Harkness, which means we can certainly expect some similar themes. As of now, there is no release window or timetable available for the new series other than “coming soon”, so you’ll just have to sit tight and wait for more news as Disney and Marvel make it available.

When we first met Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha, she was just an overly friendly annoying nosy neighbor named Agnes who lived next door to Wanda and Vision’s suburban home in Westview. Little did we know, Agnes was really Agatha Harkness, a power-hungry 17th-century witch who had been making plans to steal Wanda’s chaos magic from her to grow even more powerful.

Unfortunately for Agatha, Wanda was more powerful than she ever imagined and ended up indefinitely trapping Agatha in her own head, leaving her body stuck in annoying neighbor Agnes mode. Where the story will go from here is anybody’s guess, but we know we’re excited to find out! (Fingers crossed we get more Bohner too!)

The complete series of WandaVision is currently streaming on Disney+, along with (more or less) every other Marvel film and streaming series. While no release window has been set for Agatha: House Of Harkness for now, be sure we will keep you posted as more information becomes available.

Are you excited to see Agatha Harkness get her own streaming series? Or do you think she was better off as a one-and-done villain that we don’t need to see more of? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below and stick around Geek Anything for more Marvel updates!
