We’ve spoken previously about the upcoming Peacock show, Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol and expressed our absolute glee at seeing the continuing adventures of symbologist Robert Langdon, but we were left in the dark concerning just when those adventures would be unfolding. Thankfully, Peacock has finally revealed the premiere date for the show, which will be streaming exclusively on their platform.

The show, whose title comes from the third book in the Robert Langdon series, will follow the character, played by Ashley Zukerman, as he uses his extensive knowledge of historic symbols to decipher a puzzle that leads to a missing Masonic pyramid in Washington, DC. The series is slated to premiere on September 16, with new episodes airing every Thursday.

The news was announced via a crossword puzzle posted on Peacock’s Twitter account. The original tweet shared an image of the blank puzzle with subsequent threaded tweets containing the clues. When all of the correct answers were input into the puzzle, a highlighted section spelled out “WATCH SEPTEMBER SIXTEENTH.” I have to say, this is a very clever way to promote the show, whose purpose is the solving of cryptic puzzles, and a great way to interact with fans.

Previous, Langdon was played by Tom Hanks in a trilogy of films directed by Ron Howard. The Da Vinci Code, the most popular among them, was the first in the film series despite being the second book starring Langdon. The other two films, Angels & Demons and Inferno, were met with harsher criticism, garnering audience scores of 57% and 36% respectively on Rotten Tomatoes.

So if you’re a fan of the Robert Langdon books like I am, you’ll want to clear your calendar on September 16. Given all the mystery and crypticism of these books, I feel like Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol will be one of those shows fans will want to keep up with, if only to be part of answering the clues. Can you imagine how it would feel to miss an episode and overhear a spoiler at work the next day?

Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol stars Ashley Zukerman, Eddie Izzard, Valorie Curry, and Rick Gonzalez and will premiere on Peacock on September 16.
