We have a confession to make. Here at Geek Anything we have a mild obsession with weird novelty foods and are especially dedicated to unique flavors of soda. This is why after nearly two decades of laying dormant, we are excited to inform you that it is finally happening: Pepsi Blue is coming back!
Pepsi Blue is officially set to be heading back to store shelves in just a few days on May 3, 2021! The return of this berry-cola fusion of flavors has been rumored for some time now, and in recent months speculation has run rampant that the cult classic soft drink would be making a return this year. Now we have official confirmation from PepsiCo that it is indeed on its way!
Pepsi Blue was first released way back in 2002 and met with great enthusiasm by the masses. Pepsi did a huge promotional push for the new flavor and even made a custom website where fans could interact, which was not a common occurrence in the early oughts. While the flavor did sell well, it was discontinued permanently after just under two years on the market in 2004.
PepsiCo has finally decided to bring the flavor back after years of fan demand and give it another chance, although it is currently set to be available for a limited time only.
For those of you who missed it the first time around, Pepsi Blue is a bright blue soda featuring a distinct berry flavor. Pepsi has touted it as a “berry-cola fusion”, even though it tastes nothing like cola and everything like berry.
Unlike with their recent Crystal Pepsi re-releases which featured retro-inspired packaging, they have redesigned the Pepsi Blue logo and bottle with an entirely new look. It seems like PepsiCo doesn’t seem too worried about shooting for the nostalgia of the distant days of 2002.

Pepsi Blue is expected to make its triumphant return to store shelves on May 3, 2021.
