Sia’s ‘Music’ “Sweeps” The 2021 Razzies – Full “Winners” List

Sia's Music
Landay Entertainment

Maybe Sia should stick to writing hit songs and stay away from moviemaking. Her poorly-received autism flick, Music, swept the Golden Raspberry Awards, a.k.a. The Razzies, an awards show that annually shines the spotlight on the worst films of the year, and is typically held the same weekend as the Academy Awards/Oscars, which honors the best.

Sia is an accomplished singer/songwriter having scored massive hits like “Titanium,” and “Chandelier,” and penning additional successes for Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Flo Rida, Kylie Minogue, P!nk, and Rihanna. She also penned the songs for the movie Vox Lux, which may have inspired her to direct her own film, Music, and… maybe she shouldn’t have.

Sia “won” the Razzie for Worst Director, while Music‘s star Kate Hudson took home Worst Actress and Maddie Ziegler was crowned Worst Supporting Actress.

I’m not gonna lie. The Golden Raspberry Awards definitely have a political agenda, so anything that skews right on film usually gets lambasted, and that includes documentaries and mockumentaries.

Mike Lindell Absolute Proof
One America News Network

Mike Lindell, maker of the My Pillow, as seen in infomercials, attempted to overturn the 2020 election and financed the documentary Absolute Proof. He attempted to provide proof that Donald Trump actually won, but the claims in this documentary have almost entirely been disproven. But… he still put it out and at the very least, he earned two Razzies for Worst Picture and Worst Actor for himself.

And speaking of the rightwing, NYC mayor Rudy Guiliani won for Worst Supporting Actor for his now-infamous appearance in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm. He also won for Worst Screen Combo for himself and his zipper.

Robert Downey Jr. in Dolittle
Universal Pictures

Going into the awards, Robert Downey, Jr. and his terrible big-budget would-be franchise launcher, Dolittle had the most nominations, but at the end of the night, only took home Worst Remake, Rip-Off, or Sequel.  (It was still bad, though.)
