Are you ready for real-life dinosaurs to come back from the dead? Max Hodak, business partner to Elon Musk, claims he can make it happen.

The co-founder of Musk’s company Neuralink, Hodak recently came forward on Twitter to say that he fully believes that their team could “probably” design their own real-life dinosaurs similar to those seen in the Jurassic Park film series.

Though he did not elaborate on exactly how they would go about doing it, Hodak believes that the Neuralink team has the technological capability to bring back Dinosaurs with “maybe 15 years of breeding and engineering to get super exotic novel species.

Hodak acknowledged that any dinosaurs they could theoretically create would not be “genetically authentic” to the original creatures. Still, if Neuralink were to move forward with this, it’s likely the closest we will ever get to the real deal. For dinosaur enthusiasts around the world, this mere concept is impossible not to get excited about!

In a recent discussion with The Natural History Museum, dinosaur researcher Dr. Susie Maidment indicated her doubts regarding the potential possibilities of actually bringing dinosaurs back to life in modern times.

While great for sci-fi movie magic, the concept of using dinosaur DNA found within mosquitos that had been preserved in amber to recreate dinosaurs that Jurassic Park uses wouldn’t actually work. Even with the mosquitos preserved, the blood (and therefore the DNA) would degenerate and break down over time, meaning there would be virtually no trace of it after millions of years.

Dr. Maidment indicated that she was unable to come up with any rational way for Neuralink to actually pull this off, but at the end of the day, no one but Neuralink really knows just what kind of technology they have at their fingertips. With Elon Musk behind them, funds are theoretically limitless, meaning just about anything is possible. After all, why shouldn’t one of the richest people in the world pour their funds into something so absolutely batshit insane and incredibly cool? If Elon Musk wants dinosaurs, we do not doubt that he will eventually get them.

Founded by Elon Musk and Max Hodak in 2016, Neuralink’s main goal as a company is to treat a number of serious brain diseases like dementia, Alzheimer’s, and more. While working to unlock the human brain, could they potentially unlock long-extinct creatures from the earth’s past? Only time will tell for sure.
