In an effort to stay ahead of the curve with reboots and remakes of series that no one is asking for them to make, the team at The CW has announced the development of an all-new Americanized take on the BBC’s long-running, fan-favorite, sci-fi adventure series Doctor Who.

The series is being developed under the working title Doc and is expected to begin filming before the year’s end. There is no information currently available as to who is expected to star in the show, but it is expected that more news will follow shortly. It has been implied that The CW would be cherry-picking its stars from the supporting casts of various other series they already have on air.

Series writer and executive producer M. Adeu-Pname said in a statement about the newly announced project:

We do not know who we will be casting to star in the series yet at this time. There are only a few names we have been throwing around. But we do know they will be young and extremely good looking by conventional standards. That much we can tell you for sure.

It was also announced that rather than traveling in a massive blue Police Box, the T.A.R.D.I.S. would instead be an app attached to a special smartphone that only Doc can use. The app would allow Doc to travel throughout space and time at the press of a touchscreen where he can help other young conventionally good-looking people solve their problems.

Doc is expected to be part of The CW’s fall lineup for 2022 alongside the network’s upcoming younger, sexier, reboots of Supernatural and Riverdale; the latter of which they forget they hadn’t cancelled the original version of yet.

Happy April Fools Day from the team at Geek Anything!
