Netflix series come and go all the time, so fans of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous will be happy to hear that life has indeed found a way for the series to keep going after its first two successful seasons. Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Season 3 has just dropped its first teaser trailer and a new poster that reveals a release date and a looming new threat for the new episodes!

Set during the events of the first Jurassic World (2015) movie, the series follows a group of teenagers that took part in a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a special new adventure camp on Isla Nublar. The camp is set on the other side of the island from the theme park.

When all hell breaks loose (and by that, we mean the dinosaurs literally broke loose), the campers find themselves stranded on a now-abandoned island filled with dinosaurs running amok with no way to contact the outside world. They’re going to have to learn to rely on each other if they’re ever going to survive this situation, and there is always a chance that not everyone will.

The new trailer for Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Season 3 gives us our first taste of the new season’s story. It looks to be making good on the teaser from the end of Season 2 where something new had broken loose from a containment unit deep in Dr. Wu’s underground labs on the island. It also gives us a release date of May 21, 2021, for the new season which is fantastic news for fans of the series!

Dreamworks Animation looks to be churning out new seasons of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous at an excellent pace and has managed to keep the series’ high quality throughout its run. Season 1 premiered back in September 2020, with Season 2 dropping in January 2021, and now Season 3 releasing in May. The biggest notable difference heading into Season 3 is that the new season is longer than the last two, clocking in at ten 22-minute episodes versus eight 24-minute episodes that the first two seasons of the show had.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is headed up by showrunners Scott Kreamer and Lane Lueras who also serve as executive producers alongside major players in the Jurassic franchise like Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow, and Frank Marshall. The first two seasons of the show are currently streaming exclusively on the Netflix subscription streaming service.
