Following its launch back in 2017, Disney XD’s DuckTales quickly won over fans and critics alike. The reboot of the beloved cartoon from the late 80s starring Donald Duck’s Uncle Scrooge McDuck and nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie gained acclaim for a distinct animation style, excellent writing, and a healthy dose of nostalgia that appealed to both old and new viewers alike. Unfortunately, the journey is set to come to an end after three excellent seasons when the feature-length series finale titled Last Adventure airs on March 15, 2021. However, it looks like there’s one more quick stop for fans of our favorite ducks before they sail off into the sunset.
According to Collider, Danny Pudi will return to voice Huey Duck on an all-new scripted podcast titled This Duckburg Life. This seven-part series is a play-off of the NPR staple This American Life and will similarly feature stories from around the community, but in this case, the tales come from the city of Duckburg. Obviously, this can’t happen without the townspeople we’ve come to know and love (or in some cases hate), so Pudi will be joined by a number of costars including David Tennant (Scrooge McDuck), Ben Schwartz (Dewey), Bobby Moynihan (Louie), Kate Micucci (Webby Vanderquack), Beck Bennett (Launchpad McQuack), Toks Olagundoye (Mrs. Beakley), Jim Rash (Gyro Gearloose), Josh Brener (Mark Beaks), Margo Martindale (Ma Beagle), and the incomparable Tony Anselmo (Donald Duck).
This Duckburg Life will premiere on Disney XD’s YouTube channel, DisneyNOW, and DisneyXD VOD on March 29th, with new episodes dropping every Monday after that. Ahead of the first episode titled Adventure Calls, Disney XD has released a teaser of the episode, which you can listen to below:
