In a surprise reveal this week, Diamond Select Toys has announced an all-new collaboration with Hasbro to produce Transformers collectibles!
Specifically, an all-new Transformers Minimates Box Set was announced featuring four fan-favorite Transformers characters bringing this popular Hasbro brand to Diamond Select Toys for the first time ever. The box set includes Autobots Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, as well as Decepticons Starscream and Shockwave.
While these are Transformers characters, they are not actually expected to transform into a vehicle mode. Each of these 2″ scale Minimates should be fully articulated with the standard 14-points of articulation that fans have come to expect from the long-running Minimates line.
These new Transformers Minimates come as what seems to be a recent push by Hasbro to license out some of their more popular character brands to other toy and collectible companies. It’s a great marketing move as it maximizes their brand awareness and brings collectors even more unique products based on some of their more pop culture franchises.
At the time of this writing, we have not received confirmation as to what other lines Diamond Select Toys may be able to use the Transformers license for or what other Hasbro licenses they may have access to use. As Hasbro owns a number of other high-profile properties including G.I. Joe, Power Rangers, M.A.S.K., and Dungeons And Dragons, this could potentially open quite a few doors for amazing new collectibles based on Hasbro properties!

Capturing the armor details of 4 classic characters—Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Starscream, and Shockwave—each 2-inch mini-figure features multiple points of articulation and is fully poseable.
