A tweeted clip from the upcoming Zack Snyder’s Justice League announced a new trailer will be coming on February 14. The 4 part series debuts on HBO Max in March. The 10-second scene features a pre-accident Victor Stone (Ray Fisher), scoring a touchdown, set to some stirring new music from composer Junkie XL (Mad Max: Fury Road, Mortal Engines).

Originally, Cyborg’s past intended to play a much bigger and important part in Justice League. The clip shows his life before the accident that led his father Silas (Joe Morton) to use alien technology to save his son. Silas used the Mother Box which turned him into Cyborg. Joss Whedon extensively cut Cyborg’s backstory when he took over the original film during post-production back in 2017. Junkie XL (Tom Holkenborg), also originally tapped to score the film, found himself replaced when Whedon opted for Danny Elfman (Batman, Beetlejuice).
Fisher has very publicly denounced the way Whedon and Warner Brothers treated him and his character, the result of which led to Fisher being removed from the upcoming Flash film. Fisher vowed not to work for DC films as long as president Walter Harnada, who he ultimately blames for his treatment, remains in charge. That, however, has not dampened his enthusiasm for Snyder’s version which will restore the backstory of Cyborg. What other additions can fans look forward to? Be sure to check out the trailer on February 14.
