Trailer For ‘The Falcon And The Winter Soldier’ Brings Back Captain America’s Best Friends

An all-new trailer has dropped for Marvel Studios’ upcoming television streaming series The Falcon And The Winter Soldier. The trailer was one of the very few new trailers that premiered during this year’s Super Bowl following the vast number of film delays caused by the global pandemic.

The Falcon And The Winter Soldier is the second Marvel Studios television series set to launch on the Disney+ streaming service and brings back two of Marvel‘s biggest heroes for an all-new adventure following the events of Avengers: Endgame. While story details are scarce, what we do know is that Captain America‘s two closest friends are forced to work together to honor his legacy in the wake of his sudden absence. Check out the new trailer above!

As you can see, Sam Wilson (aka The Falcon) and Bucky Barnes (aka The Winter Soldier) have two very different styles and don’t exactly get along well with one another. The trailer gave us our first real glimpse of the pair working together in some tenuous situations despite their dysfunctional relationship with one another. They both clearly want to live up to Steve Rogers’ expectations now that he is no longer around. However, they also have to learn to live with each other in the process if either of them is ever really going to pick up Rogers’ vibranium shield for good.

The series brings back Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan in the titular roles, and they won’t be alone! While not every guest appearance has been confirmed at this time, so far we know quite a few familiar faces from throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe are set to appear in the six-episode series. Those returning include Baron Zemo (Daniel Bruhl), Batroc The Leaper (Georges St. Pierre), and Sharon ‘Agent 13’ Carter (Emily VanCamp).

The Falcon And The Winter Soldier will also see the addition of Wyatt Russell to the cast as John Walker, better known to many Marvel Comics fans as U.S. Agent, who is said to be going by the name ‘Captain America’ in this series which we are certain will be a point of contention with our heroes. Additional new cast members whose characters have not been officially confirmed by Marvel Studios include Carl Lumbly, Desmond Chiam, Miki Ishikawa, and Noah Mills. Elijah Richardson is also rumored to be making his debut as Eli Bradley, aka The Patriot from The Young Avengers.
