Sadly, for fairly obvious reasons related to a certain global pandemic that has been going around, the New York Toy Fair was cancelled for 2021. The event that is typically held in February at the Javits Center in New York City is a week-long trade show where all the major players in the toy industry show off their new products for the coming year. The cancellation of this event thankfully hasn’t slowed down the team at Funko, who decided to host their own online event simply dubbed ‘Funko Fair‘!

The Funko Fair event occurred over the course of the last week and has finally concluded with over 300 new Funko items announced. Funko announced new collectibles for almost all of their currently active toylines including POP! Vinyl, Mystery Minis, Pocket POP! Keychains, Funko Soda, Plushies, Action Figures, and more!

In Part 5 of our massive Funko Fair 2021 Wrap Up, we are taking a look at some of the great new collectibles based on both classic and upcoming movies! There are plenty of new licenses on display this year and absolutely everyone has at least one movie that they love, so it is a perfect combination to see Funko continue to make movie-themed collectibles. You can preorder new Funko collectibles announced at Funko Fair mentioned here. Check out the full rundown below!

Movies

This year’s new offerings from Funko Fair 2021 include quite a few major movie franchises both old and new! There are a few film series that are finally getting the POP! treatment after years of fan demand. There are also some great new additions to existing lines plus a few completely new licenses that we’ve yet to see from Funko! The majority of these movie-themed Funko collectibles are available for pre-order here!

When it comes to classic film series that are finally getting the Funko POP! Vinyl treatment, horror fans will be absolutely delighted to hear that we are finally getting POP! Vinyl waves based on Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992) and The Mummy (1999).

Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992) series features Van Helsing and a whopping five variations of Dracula himself! Dracula will be available as both young and old (with a Bloody Chase variant for Old Dracula), plus an armored version that has a helmeted variant available exclusively at the Funko Shop online store.

Meanwhile, The Mummy (1999) will see three figures including Rick O’Connell, Evelyn Carnahan, and The Mummy himself, Imhotep!

A few other classic films are getting figures as part of the Funko Soda line, with the titular character from Beetlejuice (1988) and Egon Spengler from Ghostbusters (1984) joining the relatively new toyline. As is the case with the majority of the Funko Soda line, there are Chase variants available for both figures.

Fans of classic 90s sports movies will be pleased to hear that we are getting POP! Vinyls based on some genuinely underappreciated classics with Cool Runnings (1993) and White Men Can’t Jump (1992) waves coming soon!

From Cool Runnings (1993) we can look forward to Irving “Irv” Blitzer and Sanka Coffie POP! Vinyls, while White Men Can’t Jump (1992) is getting a POP! Vinyl 2-pack featuring Sidney Deane and Billy Hoyle.

The Funko POP! Directors line will also be seeing a new addition in the form of the legendary Spike Lee, who is famous for having directed countless classic films including Do The Right Thing (1989), Malcolm X (1992), and School Daze (1988).

Funko is also heading back to the fan-favorite Goonies license that they haven’t released in quite some time! In an effort to give collectors who may have missed them the first time around, Funko is revisiting a number of the film’s lead characters with all-new POP! Vinyls of Mikey, Data, Chunk, Brand (Target exclusive), and Sloth (available with a Pirate Hat as a wide release or as a Walmart exclusive variant with Ice Cream).

The wizarding world of Harry Potter is adding four new POP! Vinyls featuring the Patronus Animals of some of our favorite characters including Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape, and Lupin.

Keeping it all in the family, there will be at least two all-new POP! Vinyls for the upcoming Fast And The Furious 9 (yes, they are seriously up to the ninth film in that series). New POP! Vinyls for Fast And The Furious 9 include Dominic Toretto and Jakob Toretto.

Last, but far from least, is the massive line for the film featuring the real clash of the titans, Godzilla Vs. Kong! This line is built entirely of variants in both style and scale of the film’s two titular characters, Godzilla and King Kong. Both characters are available as Pocket POP! Keychains, Jumbo Sized 10″ POP! Vinyls (with Walmart exclusive Color variants), and standard POP! Vinyl figures.
