Celebrate 2021 With Marvel Studios New Year’s Eve Musical Show

Last week, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced a special New Year’s Eve Marvel theme musical show and in true Marvel form, the event was epic. Hosted by the video platform Bilibili, the show was held in China, which has already rung in the New Year. Now fans all over the world can experience the “marvel” of the show with the sounds of the MCU by a full orchestra.

This is no ordinary concert! After all, it is a Marvel production. The concert also featured some dazzling special effects. The first stunner was the appearance of the Marvel Studios logo created by lasers and set to an extended version of Brian Tyler’s familiar melody of the music that opens almost all of the Marvel Studios’ films. From there, the orchestra segued into Alan Silvestri’s Avengers theme – one of Marvel’s most iconic themes that still brings chills when I hear it.

Adding to the fun, the conductor is seen wearing the Infinity Gauntlet (perhaps to instill a little fear onto the musicians not to mess up least he decides to snap them all – well, at least half of them – into dust?).

The show ends with images of the 6 original cinematic Avengers (Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, Hawkeye, and The Hulk) and a banner with the logos of the next 3 Marvel films, Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and The Eternals.

Music plays such an integral part in films and listening to the Marvel Studios New Year’s Eve Musical Show makes me hope we can all head back to the movie theaters soon.

In the meantime, Happy New Year and enjoy the next 4 minutes of this marvel-ous performance above!
